Beef and Cheese Pie

Ingredients
Pie
- 1 brown onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 pack beef mince
- 1 pack tomato paste
- 1 pack pie sauce
- 1 Tbsp flour
- 1½ cups beef stock
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 1 pack puff pastry
Salad
- ½ cos lettuce
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 carrot
To Serve
- Tomato sauce

Prep onion Preheat oven to 220°C. Finely dice onion.

Cook pie filling Heat a drizzle of oil in a fry-pan on high heat. Cook onion for about 3 minutes, until tender. Add garlic and beef to pan. Cook for about 5 minutes, until browned.

Add tomato paste, pie sauce and flour to pan. Cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Reduce heat to medium-low, add stock and 1 tsp salt. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, until thickened

Make pie Transfer pie filling to an oven dish (about 25x30cm) and evenly sprinkle over cheese. Unroll pastry and place on top of oven dish to fit snugly. Cut pastry to fit, if needed. Prick pastry in a few places with a fork. Bake on middle oven rack for 15-17 minutes, until pastry is golden.

Make salad Roughly chop lettuce; dice tomatoes 2cm; grate carrot. Toss in a bowl, then drizzle with a little olive oil and vinegar. Season.
