Ingredients
Carrot Chips
- 2 carrots, cut into chips
- 1 tsp smoky spices
Chicken
- 1 pack chicken breasts, cut into steaks
- Remaining smoky spices
- 1 Tbsp flour
Burger
- 1/2 pack cheese, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, thinly sliced
- 1/2 avocado, thinly sliced
- 1 lettuce, roughly torn
- 1 pack burger buns, sliced in half
- 2 Tbsp ranch sauce
Steps
-
Preheat oven to 220°C. Preheat BBQ to medium-high (if using). Prep & cook chips. Toss carrot chips with first measure of smoky spices and a drizzle of oil on a lined oven tray. Season and roast for about 25 minutes, until tender.
-
Prep chicken. Pat chicken dry and cut into steaks. Place your hand flat on top of chicken and slice through horizontally. Toss in a bowl with remaining smoky spices, flour and 1/2 tsp salt.
-
Prep burger ingredients.
-
Cook chicken. Heat a drizzle of oil in a fry-pan on medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 3-5 minutes each side (depending on thickness), or until cooked through. Top chicken with a slice of cheese, rest, covered. Alternatively, do this on BBQ.
-
Warm buns. When chips have 5 minutes cook time remaining, push to one side of tray and place buns on the other side. Return to oven for 5 minutes, until buns are warm and chips are tender.
-
Build burgers with ranch sauce, chicken and toppings and serve carrot chips on the side.
