Ingredients
Bolognese
- 1 pack beef mince
- 1 brown onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pack Bolognese spices
- 1 pack tomato paste
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup beef stock
- 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 pack gnocchi
- 1 pack cheese, grated
Salad
- 1 carrot, peeled into ribbons
- 1/2 telegraph cucumber, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pack spinach, washed & roughly chopped, 4 cups worth
To Serve
- 1 pack garlic sauce
Steps
-
Preheat oven to high grill. Bring a pot of salted water to the boil. Prep & cook Bolognese. Heat a drizzle of oil in an oven proof fry-pan on high heat. Cook beef for about 5 minutes, until browned. Add onion, garlic and Bolognese spices to pan and cook for 3–4 minutes, until onion is tender.
-
Add tomato paste, canned tomatoes, stock, balsamic vinegar and 1 tsp salt. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce has thickened. Season to taste.
-
Cook gnocchi. Add gnocchi to pot of boiling water and cook for about 3 minutes, until just tender. Drain and return to pot with a drizzle of olive oil.
-
To finish. Add cooked gnocchi to pan with Bolognese and mix to combine. Top with cheese and grill in oven for about 5 minutes, until golden.
-
Prep salad. Combine salad ingredients in a bowl with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season to taste.
-
Serve beef and gnocchi bake with garlic sauce and salad on the side.
