As we close out 2024, I wanted to thank you again for supporting local and being a valued customer of My Food Bag. Our focus this year has been to continue to help Aotearoa New Zealand live and eat well, and we are thrilled to have delivered over 14m meals to Kiwis this year.
This year we have had our highest ever customer satisfaction scores reflecting the improvements we have made to our product and service. Here’s a few of the highlights of 2024 at My Food Bag:
- We are delighted to have opened our My Food Bag Shop – a range of specially curated food bundles, including care packages, gift boxes and ready made meals. These food bundles are designed for different occasions, including convenient and nourishing meals for new parents and people who are unwell or need a helping hand.
- We were part of one of the biggest events of the year by being an official partner of the New Zealand Team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. It was amazing to see our athletes shine and we played our role in ‘supporting the supporters’ with our Official Olympic Burger – which was a hit, delivering more than 20,000 burgers to households across Aotearoa New Zealand.
- We had another stellar year when it came to our food, offering more than 1000 unique recipes to customers. Our most popular recipes being a Kiwi classic – Butterflied Lamb Roast with Broccoli Smash for Bargain Box & Pan-Fried Snapper with Garlic Beurre Blanc for My Food Bag. Our recipes continue to be loved by customers, with the average rating being 4.14/5 for the year. But it is your feedback that is the secret ingredient, so please continue to rate your recipes so you can help us make them even better.
- And speaking of food, we are committed to supporting local, with over 98% of our fresh produce & proteins being sourced from here in New Zealand. In May we celebrated one of our most popular ingredients (you guessed it the carrot, with over 4 million being included in our boxes this year), with NZ’s first carrot cook off & community shared lunch being held in the carrot capital of Ohakune and hosted by our very own Nadia Lim. This was a great success and a wonderful celebration of community, connection and great food.
Finally, as we head into the holiday season, I wish to thank those of you who have chosen to have My Food Bag at your Christmas table by purchasing a Christmas bag, and those who have generously contributed to our donation drive which raised $17,000 for the City Missions across Aotearoa. As well as the food we donate to the City Missions throughout the year, we were delighted to be able to help support families in need at this time of the year.
Whether you are a long-time customer or have just started with us, we truly appreciate you choosing us and hope that we have played a part in making your dinnertimes that much easier and more enjoyable.
Ngā mihi nui,
Mark Winter
