Substitute Sauce Recipes

Falafel Paste

Serves 4
1 onion, finely diced (red, white or brown)
2 cloves garlic, finely diced
2 Tbsp fresh parsley leaves, finely chopped
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 Tbsp olive oil

Serves 2
½ onion, finely diced (red, white or brown)
1 clove garlic, finely diced
2 Tbsp fresh parsley leaves, finely chopped
½ tsp cumin powder
½ tsp coriander powder
1 Tbsp olive oil

-Finely dice onion and garlic and finely chop parsley. Mix with spices and oil OR place all ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth.

Ssamjang 
-We suggest foodies subbing straight to sweet chilli sauce for this ingredient.

Sesame Peanut Dressing

Serves 4
2 Tbsp peanut butter
1 Tbsp Oil
2 tsp Soy Sauce
1 tsp Honey
2 tsp Lime juice
2 tsp water

Serves 2
1 Tbsp peanut butter
½ Tbsp Oil
1 tsp Soy Sauce
½ tsp Honey
1 tsp Lime juice
1 tsp water

-Whisk all ingredients in a bowl until smooth and season to taste with soy sauce.

Korean soy chilli sauce

Serves 4 
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce
Pinch of chilli flakes

Serves 2 
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce
Pinch of chilli flakes

-Mix in a bowl until well combined. 

Gluten Free Korean soy chilli sauce

Serves 4 
2 Tbsp Gluten Free soy sauce
2 Tbsp Gluten Free sweet chilli sauce
Pinch of chilli flakes

Serves 2
1 Tbsp Gluten Free soy sauce
1 Tbsp Gluten Free sweet chilli sauce
Pinch of chilli flakes

– Mix in a bowl until well combined.
