Before you start, preheat oven to 180°C bake.
Place butter and golden syrup in a heatproof bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, until butter is melted. Add milk, dumpling mix and a pinch of salt and stir to combine, until a dough forms. Set aside.
Place all sauce ingredients in a large ovenproof skillet. Heat on medium heat for 2-3 minutes, until melted and combined.
Remove pan from heat and very carefully dollop heaped tablespoons of the dough in the sauce.
Bake for 20 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through.
Remove the dish from the oven and serve the dumplings and sauce with vanilla ice cream.
