Hot Cross Bun Bacon Butties, Makes 6
Ingredients
- 1 pack bacon
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 pack hot cross buns
- 6 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 220°C bake.
- Place bacon on a lined oven tray. Brush with first measure of maple syrup. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, or until golden and sticky.
- While bacon is cooking, cut slab of hot cross buns through the centre, making sure they stay attached. Place on another lined oven tray and bake for 5 minutes, until warm and slightly crispy. Once finished cooking, immediately spread butter on both sides of the hot cross buns.
- Pile bacon onto the bottom half of the buns. Drizzle over second measure of maple syrup and add the top half of buns. Cut into 6 and dig in!
