Our famous Bircher Muesli

This bircher muesli is the perfect solution for a nourishing and nutritious breakfast on the fly. Prepare the night before, and you’ll be all set for the morning. Just add your toppings and go! Make up a big batch of the dry mix and you’ll always have healthy breakfast on hand.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup bircher mix (see below)
  • ½ cup almond milk (or any milk)
  • ½ apple or pear, grated

To serve

  • 2 Tbsp unsweetened, natural Greek yoghurt (optional)
  • Frozen berries or fresh fruit e.g. kiwifruit, banana slices (optional)

Instructions

  • Combine bircher mix with almond milk and apple/pear, grated in a bowl, jar or airtight container.
  • Allow to soak overnight, in fridge. If desired, top with a spoonful of yoghurt or some frozen berries or a few slices of fresh fruit before eating.

Bircher Mix
160g rolled oats
40g white quinoa
20g pumpkin seeds
20g coconut thread
20g linseeds
15g chia seeds
30g slivered almonds
30g currants
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger
 
Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. Seeds, nuts and fruit can be mixed and matched for whatever you have on hand.
