Calming Matcha Bliss Balls

With today’s fast-paced lifestyle, and added stress this brings, our adrenaline levels are spiking, but what goes up, must come down. And these periods of high stress lead to more regular and greater energy slumps, and these slumps are when we get those cravings for energy dense, fast-delivering fuels, namely sugars, caffeine and carbohydrates. This is where smart planning and low GI, slow-release energy foods are a great remedy for stabilising our energy and our blood sugar levels.

So we’ve created a recipe for exactly that — some matcha bliss balls, refined sugar free and full of fibre, healthy fats and nutrients. With matcha, a green tea powder, these are the perfect afternoon pick me up or mid-morning snack, with a calming element and plenty of anti-oxidants.

Make up a batch on the weekend, and store in the fridge or freezer for a healthy snack on hand.
